As promised, here’s another rundown of one of our latest favourite shoots – this time with the lovely Jennifer Beckham, from Jennifer Beckham Fitness on Instagram and Facebook.
I personally love shooting with Jen because she is always so relaxed, yet energetic in front of the camera – and that makes for amazing photos every time.
Jen’s kicked her fitness journey into the next gear recently, and one of the best ways to show off results, or even motivate yourself to push even further is a fun photoshoot! She wanted to go for some edgy city waterfront vibes so to Wynyard Quarter we headed!
Pro tip: If you want to shoot in the city, but don’t want other people in your shot, or even watching you strut your stuff, go as early in the morning as possible.
Ideally sunrise.
Which is just what we did.
Hello 6am and some good old fashioned Maccas hashbrowns!
This shoot turned out amazing not only because Jen’s a natural in front of the camera, but because Wynyard Quarter served as the perfect backdrop. It’s beautifully muted with pops of colour, lots of lines, and shapes to add interest and intrigue to your shot.
Our favourite s
pot actually ended up being the bridge which seemed to go nowhere. It’s in Silo Park, it’s quite high up, and a captivating steel colour with sharp lines, lots of great lighting, and absolutely ZERO foot-traffic because – seriously does this thing go anywhere??? What’s its purpose?? We may never know.
But how was the shoot for Jen? She was kind enough to give us a little insight into the other side of the lens that I definitely can’t talk about! Take it away Jen!
Hi guys! So I am a big fan of Hyped NZ’s work and I am so blessed to have been able to collaborate with Morgan with the shoots I have done. This shoot definitely did have some significant meaning for me as this symbolised how far I’ve come in my weight loss journey and my achievements. As nervous as I was pre-shoot Morgan made me feel comfortable in all of the areas where we shot. Even when it got down to me shooting in leggings and a sports bra which I have NEVER done before
It did start early; and I mean “I should’ve still been in bed early”. But that was the perfect time to head into the CBD as we didn’t have to worry about the public getting into any shots.
I’ve seen quite a few people use the area we did for our shots and I am glad I stuck by my guns and used it as well. Not only did they come out so clear and crisp but the colours and theme of the shots really portrayed the image I wanted. That through my journey I have been strong and powerful with my mentality, training and nutrition to get where I am now.
Morgan is so talented and I put all of my trust in her when it comes to shooting and location. THIS GIRL KNOWS HER STUFF! Again; she made me feel comfortable in all back drops and the photos came out so well.
As always; post shoot always calls for food as you definitely don’t want to meet a Hangry Jenn. I enjoy these debriefs with Morgan as we can really chat about how things went and also possible plans for the future.
Count yourself lucky if you get a chance to work with Morgan. Herself and her talents are worth so much and I am so blessed to know such a talented person. Not only does she make you laugh and embrace your true self in the shoot but the end result is amazing.
Thank you again xx
P.S if you ever want to be in her good books PODS and Coke Zero are her fave 😉
Wow, thanks Jen!
What a lovely lady!
She’s also recently been featured in the Daily Mail where she talked about her journey, so if you want to give it a read, you can find it here!
